Mooloolaba is one of the Sunshine Coasts most popular tourist destinations. It has a wonderful holiday atmosphere with its restaurants and cafés lining the beachfront and the surfers and beach lovers having fun right across the road. Mooloolaba. is situated on the central part of Queensland's Sunshine Coast, which is about an hours drive north from Brisbane. The beaches at Mooloolaba are some of Queensland's most popular surfing beaches and the break at Pt Arkwright has iconic status when the big swells roll in from the South East. All the beaches in this region are patrolled and each has its own surf club.

The river at Mooloolaba is now home to several massive marina's and there are thousands of yachts and power boats moored in the region. There is direct access to the ocean for even large yachts and the entrance to the river is protected by large rock seawalls. The Mooloolaba spit region is very popular with holidaymakers as there are a lot of holiday apartments situated right on the beachfront and plenty of restaurants and cafes. The fisherman's cooperative is also on the spit and many people come here to buy fresh fish, prawns and other seafood and then have a picnic in the park or on the beach.

The main Mooloolaba shopping center is right on the beachfront and it also incorporates a number of new beachfront resorts. This region is very cosmopolitan and one of the busiest holiday regions on the Sunshine Coast. It always has a great holiday ambience with lots of alfresco and footpath cafes and restaurants to choose from. There are also plenty of local attractions within easy walking distance of the Mooloolaba accommodation. Underwater world is the main attraction with its fantastic displays. There is a touch and feel tank for the littlies, plenty of interesting aquarium fish, an Otter display, a Sealion tank plus the major aquarium with its perspex underwater walkthrough. You can also swim with the sharks if you are game enough. In the Sunshine Coast hinterland you will find Australia Zoo. This is the late Steve Irwins wonderful zoo filled with his favorite crocodiles, big cats, elephants and snakes. It is now run by his surviving family with mum Terri calling the shots and daughter Bindi taking over where dad left off after his tragic death.
