Mount Buller is one of Australia's most popular skiing destinations. It is the closest ski resort to Melbourne and close enough to be able to make a day trip if you want to. It is about 230 kilometers drive that takes about three hours each way. Mount Buller ski slopes have the second highest lifting capacity in Australia and it also has the longest vertical drop. Mt Buller has a skiable area of 180 hectares and there are now 25 lifts to service the slopes with a capacity to lift 40000 skiers an hour. The longest runs at Mount Buller are around two and a half kilometers long. The resort has all the latest snow making equipment, groomed trails and also features a ski school, ski hire with all the latest equipment and ski patrol.

The Bourke St run at Buller is Australia's busiest ski slope. It is lined either side by the on snow accommodation and the commercial areas. There are hotels, lodges and apartments aplenty to choose from and everything is right on the action. The nearby town of Mansfield also provides plenty of off snow accommodation that is conveniently located close to the resort. Facilities on the mountain include banking, post office and a well stocked mini mart. Apres ski fun is legendary at Mt Buller. There are plenty of restaurants, cafes and pubs and hotels as well as late night entertainment.

Mount Buller is also a popular summer holiday destination with fantastic bushwalking trails. The chairlift also operates during the summer months and the region is really popular with hang gliders, bushwalkers, abseilers and rock climbers.
