Noosa is one of Australia's most popular holiday destinations. It lies on the Noosa River at the northern end of the Sunshine Coast which is located just north of Brisbane in Queensland's south east. Noosa has one of the country's best surfing beaches and Hastings St, which runs along the beachfront, is lined both sides by fabulous resorts, boutiques, restaurants and cafés and is always busy with holiday makers enjoying the sub tropical sunshine. In Australia, it has iconic status as the place to be seen if you have made it financially and a holiday in Noosa is a beautiful thing to brag about to your friends.

The Noosa National park takes up a large part of the headland and adjoins Hastings St, Noosa Hill and the main resort areas of accommodation. It is walking distance from most of the resorts and provides an oasis of bush land right in the middle of Noosa. Some of the walks through the National Park provide spectacular coastal views and the park is home to many of Australia's unique species of wildlife. There are Koala and Kangaroos as well as many different species of birds. The park also has a number of quiet and secluded beaches that are really beautiful.

The Noosa River runs along the northern side of the town and has ferry access to places further inland along the river. Fishing charters also use the river to access the open ocean and tours run to the Noosa Everglades region upstream from the town. Noosa accommodation is famous and there is a lot to choose from. Five star hotels and resorts abound and some are right on the beachfront. There are also plenty of self catering apartments, Backpacker hostels and motels to choose from. Dining out is a specialty and there are some truly excellent restaurants in town to sample some of the Sunshine Coast's best produce.

Noosa is really easy to get to. The Sunshine Coast airport is just down the road at Marcoola and you can fly in direct from Sydney or Melbourne. A shuttle service or a limousine service are available to take you to your chosen accommodation or resort. Noosa also has many festivals and functions during the year. The Noosa Jazz Festival is really popular and the Noosa triathlon is one of the biggest in the country.
